A REVAMP of fleet management software is being carried out at Siemens Group Services to cope with a doubling in its fleet size. In its biggest yet deal, GAMMA Software, part of Fleetlease, has won the contract to supply software which will run the firm's 3,500-strong fleet.
The new will be able to adapt to the fleet increasing in size over the coming months as electronics and engineering firm Siemens continues a programme of company acquisitions. The number of vehicles it controls has doubled in size in the last three years and is expected to increase by the same number of vehicles in future.
PC-based and designed to run on Windows, Fleet Manager offers standard accounting report facilities as well as MoT and servicing reminders. Initially 10 companies were bidding for the contract before Gamma Software's Fleet Manager package came out on top.
