THE AA has launched a comprehensive new car safety guide for fleet managers. Detailing all the results from the crash tests carried out under European New Car Assessment Programme in the supermini, lower medium, upper medium and executive car sectors, it has information on every model tested to date as well as manufacturer data on design and specification changes.

AA general manager fleet services Ray Combs said: 'We must try to increase the safety standards of the cars we drive. We intend to keep the guide up to date and add to it as more vehicles are crash tested under the Euro NCAP project.'

The AA is one of a consortium of organisations backing the Euro NCAP scheme and Combs added: 'The results of the crash tests are beginning to make people think about which cars they drive and, if by publishing the guide we can increase fleet awareness of the tests and the results, then the education progress is working.'
