LUNN Poly has awarded a 105-vehicle leasing contract to Lease Plan in what could grow to be a deal involving several hundred vehicles. The company is part of Thomson Travel Group, which not only operates the 105-strong Lunn Poly fleet but also a 150-strong Britannia Airways fleet and a 100-strong Thomson Holidays fleet.

Lease Plan already has the contract for Thomson's Holiday Cottages fleet of 70 vehicles and, in the latest deal, all the vehicles are funded over three years/60,000 miles, with the cars being supplied on a user-chooser basis.

Paul Silverwood, information systems director at Lunn Poly, said Lease Plan's e-commerce technology played a major part in them winning the contract. 'In the past, all communications with our contract hire provider has been via telephone, post or fax. This method of communication is fine but it does take time and involve a lot of chasing and re-sending of information. We expect to make considerable cost as well as efficiency savings by using Lease Plan's electronic products.'
