AUDI has expanded its range of performance-orientated A4 models with the new 1.8 T quattro Sport costing £27,150 on the road in saloon format and £28,225 as an Avant. About 750 of the new models will be imported into the UK this year and the new variant - which adds power, torque, extra equipment, permanent four-wheel drive and unique styling details - supplements the existing 1.8 T Sport.

The 1.8 T quattro Sport features a modified version of the turbocharged 1.8-litre engine already found in the A3, A4 and A6. However, tuned to deliver 180bhp and 235Nm of torque - increases of 30bhp and 25Nm over the standard engine - it gives the new model the potential to sprint to 62mph in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 145mph. Carbon dioxide emissions are 214 g/km.
