NATIONAL Car Rental has hit the headlines with a £600,000 exclusive hire deal with networked technology services and solutions giant Wang Global, and a £200,000 contract to supply vehicles to national news company, ITN.

As part of the Wang Global agreement, National now supplies about 80 cars and vans a day such as Vauxhall Vectras and Ford Transit 100 and 190 vans. Wang Global will be utilising National Car Rental's paperless on-line rental management system Speedlink. Multi-user sites will be installed at Wang Global offices.

National has also been awarded preferred supplier status by ITN through its travel contract with American Express. The hire company will supply vehicles to reporters and crews in the UK and overseas, often at short notice as news breaks using Speedlink.
