ROVER could be the next manufacturer to offer fleet buyers a three-year warranty as standard when it launches the Rover 75 in the UK next month. The make-or-break model was first revealed to the Press with a one-year unlimited mileage warranty, but the company is now investigating whether customer demand is high enough for the warranty to be increased in time for the June 17 launch.

A source at Rover said: 'It depends how much of an issue the warranty is with consumers. We are getting feedback on orders which are coming in at the moment and will make a decision in time for the launch.'

The company is also said to be looking at extending the three-year warranty throughout the Rover range, although it is not a detailed proposal and is unlikely to be seen in the near future.
