HOLIDAY vouchers worth £1,000 have been presented by Cars Direct following the results of its competition staged during the Fleet Show. Bob Foster, used car disposal manager for Ryland Multifleet, won the holiday vouchers after making the most accurate prediction on what an R-plate Vauxhall Tigra Bermuda with 8,800 miles on the clock would fetch at auction. In fact, he predicted the exact figure - £9,139.

Cars Direct was back at the Fleet Show after a three-year absence and managing director Roger Woodward said: 'The Tigra sale competition was just a part of a very successful show for us with more than 700 visitors to the stand.'

In another presentation following the Fleet Show, the AA has donated £3,650 to disabled motoring charity Motability. It had pledged to give all the proceeds achieved above the written-down value of a car it sold at BCA Auction Live. The car was a 1996 N plate BMW 318i coupe the AA had written down to £7,400 but which went for £11,050.
