The move ends the show's two-year stay at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre and marks the latest step in ensuring the event is focused on providing the best atmosphere for undertaking business at the UK's premier fleet event. By returning to London, the show has come full circle, as it was based in the capital a decade ago.
Fleet Show 2001 will take over the entire Alexandra Palace complex, offering a large exhibition arena for the thousands of fleet decision-makers that the event attracts each year. More than 100 companies are expected to exhibit this year and already in excess of 30 manufacturers and service companies have given their support to the event by promising to attend.
New themed areas will give a focus to the environment and the rocketing growth of e-commerce and hi-tech fleet solutions. Established favourites for visitors and exhibitors alike will also be making a return, with fleet forums planned for each day of the event covering key issues facing fleet managers, such as the imminent arrival of carbon dioxide-based company car tax in 2002.
Chris Lester, event director, said: 'Alexandra Palace is a perfect fit for the Fleet Show. The venue provides everything we need in one easily-accessible place.'
