COMPANY cars will survive the onslaught of the internet and electronic communications, according to a new survey published on Monday.

The 2020 Vision Report by the AA and international metals group Corus claims that despite explosive growth in electronic communications and e-commerce, British business drivers anticipate continued face-to-face contact with their customers. Two-thirds of survey respondents who won't be at retirement age by 2020 say they expect to be visiting customers by car as often or more frequently than today.

In addition, 85% of the 483 survey respondents expect more cars to be on the UK's roads in 20 years' time and few drivers think the Government will have successfully reduced congestion with more than half of those surveyed expect to be commuting by car.
