DESPITE the growing battle for business at upper end of the market, dealer-owned and independent players will still have a place, despite their dwindling market share, according to Colin Tourick, managing director of Associated Fleet Services. He claimed earlier reports that he has questioned their future was misquoted and said: 'Medium size companies are likely to be the interesting sector to watch.
'They need to find their way as they are not small enough to give really personal service and not big enough to offer major economies of scale. The way forward is for them to offer real advice to clients on the best way through the finance and management maze. They are best placed to provide this as they have the expertise, the time and the resources to do so.'
