PHOTOCARD driving licence applications can now be checked at more than 200 selected main Post Offices across the country. Previously, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency handled all checking procedures.
In the new pilot scheme, applicants can take form, photograph, fee and UK passport to be processed at any participating post office. The service costs £3.50 and applications still have to be rubber stamped by the DVLA, but the benefit is that the passport can be handed back immediately. The Post Office has a helpline on 0845 77223344 to advise of nearest participating offices.
