THE first of Vauxhall's new Bertone-designed Astra Coupe models goes on sale on Thursday (July 6). Priced from £16,150, the 115bhp 1.8-litre petrol-engined three-door includes ABS, traction control, air conditioning, driver and passenger airbags, single-slot CD, electric windows and door mirrors, and remote central deadlocking as standard equipment.

A 147bhp 2.2-litre version is to go on sale in the autumn, with an on-the-road price tag of £17,650. The flagship of the Astra Coupe range will be the 2.0-litre Turbo, expected towards the end of the year and with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
