FLEET managers will be the first people in the country to see the new Jaguar X-Type 'in the flesh' as it makes its UK debut at the Fleet Show 2001. The fleet market is seen as crucial to the success of the X-type, which will be a contender in the luxury upper-medium sector against rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The UK debut will be hosted in the new Fleet Show setting of Alexandra Palace, in London, from May 1 - 3, a location that has already won the backing of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association and the Association of Car Fleet Operators.

Volvo has also joined the growing list of manufacturers signing up to this year's show, despite pulling out of the London Motor Show. Other exhibitors include Fiat/Alfa Romeo, Nissan, Renault and Audi, while service companies attending the event include British Car Auctions, Manheim Auctions, Kwik-Fit Fleet, Car Fleet Control and HSBC Vehicle Finance.
