BSH Home Appliances is to transfer drivers on its 100-strong vehicle fleet to structured car ownership schemes as part of a £2 million outsourcing deal with Zenith Vehicle Contracts.

Milton Keynes-based BSH is the home appliances division of Bosch Siemens Group, which employs 19,000 people in 130 countries.

The car ownership scheme has been developed by advisers Grant Thornton and is intended to provide drivers with the benefits of a company car, but without the tax liability.

William Wilkins, group financial controller at BSH, said: 'Outsourcing the fleet makes clear financial sense for us as a way of reducing the administrative time and money spent on a non-core business activity.

'The proposed scheme also offers significant fiscal advantages when the new tax regime takes effect in April.'
