THE Department of International Development has on average spent more than £250,000 a year on ministerial cars and more than £65,000 on taxis annually, new figures reveal. The House of Commons heard that during 2000–2001 the department spent £212,114 on cars and drivers, with £78,308 being spent on taxis.
