• VAUXHALL has appointed Graham Abbott as regional fleet sales manager for the south of England, excluding London.

    He will be responsible for fleets between 25 and 600 vehicles and was previously leasing operations manager. Before that Abbott was national account manager with Vauxhall.

  • DON Moore has been appointed vice- president of sales United Kingdom - Ireland for rental firm Enterprise. He was previously general manager at its Birmingham office. Moore joined the company in 1987 and will now take on nationwide responsibilities.

  • Doreen Lear has left the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) where she was head of finance and membership. She joined the association in 1992 and was responsible for members' training, human resources and maintaining member standards before taking on financial budgeting and account administration.

  • JENNY Beale has taken on the management of Fleetlease's new online business partners project. This will supply a range of financial products including contract hire, personal contract purchase and hire purchase to selected motor dealers. Beale has been with Fleetlease for 18 years in a range of management roles before this recent appointment.

  • ALAN King has joined LDV dealer Dutton Forshaw Maidstone as van sales specialist. King began his career in the motor industry with Daewoo Cars in Maidstone.

  • JOANNE Helson has joined HPI as customer operations director. She heads up several teams including customer relations, product support and service delivery. Prior to HPI, Helson worked with Airtours and, more recently, as a consultant for Glass's Information Services.

  • FORD has appointed Peter Horbury as the Premier Automotive Group's executive director of design. He oversees product design strategy for Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. He will also help develop cross-brand design philosophies and development processes. Horbury has been design director with Volvo Car Corporation since 1991.

  • NIGEL Eastwood has joined TRL as its director of transportation. His areas of involvement will include traffic management and control, transport planning, driver information systems, public transport and integrated transport solutions. Eastwood has international experience in transport.

  • MALCOLM Gough, chief executive of Fleet News' parent company, Emap Automotive, has left his role to take up the post of divisional managing director of sister company Emap Communications. His successor will be announced shortly.
