PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced a fall in profits for its UK manufacturing and sales division.

Profits in 2001 were down more than a third to £64.1 million on sales of £2.87 billion. In 2000, it posted results of £100.2 million and £2.92 billion respectively. Despite a 4% rise in sales in the first half of this year, and reclaiming third place in the fleet sector, it warned the situation was unlikely to change in the first half of this year.
