MG Rover has provided more than 900 chauffeur-driven cars to transport athletes, coaches, VIPs and officials around Manchester between venues for the Commonwealth Games.

The fleet, made up of Rover 45s and 75s, is the largest number of cars provided to a UK sporting event. During the games the Rovers will travel about 1.5 million miles. Olympic and Commonwealth gold medallist and Team Rover athlete Jonathan Edwards said: 'MG Rover's support for the Commonwealth Games, along with its ongoing investment in Team GB and the development of the Rover Combined Events Initiative – a unique grass roots scheme to raise the profile of combined events in the UK – all illustrate Rover's dedication to athletics in this country.'

Fast-fit tyre specialist National Fleet is working with MG Rover to provide mobile tyre replacement assistance to the Commonwealth Games fleet.
