LAND Rover's manufacturing plant has proved its worth after winning this year's manufacturing excellence award from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

It was one of six major companies listed from nearly 300 entrants and was also a finalist in all six categories which included best practice in IT, people effectiveness, customer focus and product and process innovation.

Director of manufacturing Marin Burela said: 'The award gives recognition to the firm's willingness to embrace change, providing a positive platform for business growth in the future.'
