BUDGET-conscious LCV operators can take advantage of a fixed-cost servicing plan which will keep their vans on the road for £99 a year.

Believed to be the first scheme of its kind for vans, Volkswagen is offering the package through its commercial vehicle finance arm for any new LT van bought through a VW van centre.

A one-off payment of £297 (excluding VAT) will cover the vehicle for servicing and maintenance for three years or 75,000 miles, and customers can add in extra features or extend the mileage cover.

Volkswagen claims the package will suit both small fleets and single unit purchasers who prefer to budget accurately, paying for service and maintenance in advance. Customers can also include tyres in the package, along with servicing and maintenance for £642 (excluding VAT) for three years' cover or pay extra to extend cover up to 150,000 miles.

The package is only available as a three year scheme and does not apply to fleet sales.
