NISSAN has announced prices for its smallest commercial vehicle, the Kubistar (pictured), which goes on sale next week.

It offers a range of diesel engines, car-like specification, low running costs and an updated design. Prices start at £7,500 on-the-road.

The vehicle is based on the Kangoo produced by Nissan's alliance partner Renault, which dominates the sector, along with the Vauxhall Combo and Citroen Berlingo.

The 1.5-litre diesel is expected to be the most popular option and is offered in three different outputs – 57bhp, 65bhp and 82bhp.

Prices for the diesels start at £9,250 on-the-road, ex-VAT.
