BUYERS are actively seeking out anything unusual, particularly Mobility-style conversions.

In a Lloyds TSB Asset Finance sale at Measham, a 99V Fiat Ducato Maxi minibus at 22,000 miles with a wheelchair conversion sold for £11,500, more than double the standard vehicle would be expected to realise.

Land Rovers are also proving highly desirable. One highly successful vendor, United Utilities, has built a strong following for the regular sale section at BCA Preston.

The most recent sale attracted buyers from the West Midlands, Northern Ireland, Suffolk and even Penzance in Cornwall and featured an attractive selection of vehicles that included Land Rover product.

BCA expects to see the upturn keep going, particularly as independent traders, wholesalers and retailers will be turning their minds to transport capacity in the run-up to Christmas.
