AN anticipated need for extra parcel deliveries in the run-up to Christmas has boosted sales of used light vans.

Glass's Information Services reports that at nearly every auction venue over the past couple of months sales have been strong.

It adds that, at this time of year, less well-presented or even unpopular vans receive renewed interest due to the high seasonal demand for parcel movers.

George Alexander, chief editor, commercial vehicles at Glass's Information Services, said: 'In response to this, there is an accompanying short-term lift in their market worth. The trade's current buying confidence, as demonstrated at popular auction venues, virtually guarantees stable market conditions over the coming weeks.

'With the run-up to Christmas now firmly in our sights, it is reasonable to expect that this strong marketplace for the best light vans and pick-ups will continue at least into December.'
