FIAT'S revamped Punto range will cost from £6,995 on-the-road for the entry-level 1.2 8V model.

Three new engines will be available when it goes on sale next month, including a 1.3-litre 16-valve Multijet turbodiesel model, starting at £8,595. A 1.4-litre petrol version will be priced at £10,245 and a sporty 1.9-litre JTD Unijet common rail direct injection turbodiesel will also be available at £11,745.

Two clutchless transmissions will be available alongside five and six-speed manual gearboxes.

The first is Speedgear, an automatic transmission which allows six-speed sequential operation with manual changes, and the second is Dualogic, a clutchless five-speed sequential transmission with manual shift and two automatic modes.

Fiat has re-styled the Punto, re-designing the front and back end including a revised grille, light clusters and new bumpers.
