Brake is holding a series of events around the country between September 22 and 28 and has suggested that fleets organise a driver awareness day highlighting the dangers of speeding.
Brake chief executive Mary Williams said: 'Road Safety Week plays a crucial role in reinforcing the importance of safe vehicle fleets. It is an employer's obligation to ensure that they have comprehensive policies in place to ensure the safety of their drivers and vehicles. Brake urges all managers to get involved in Road Safety Week and help stop the crash epidemic which destroys lives daily.'
This year's Road Safety Week theme is child pedestrian safety.
Brake is appealing to drivers to reduce their speed following statistics which have shown that the UK has the fourth worst rate child pedestrian deaths in Europe.
