GM DAEWOO has revealed a new lower-medium hatchback that will make its public debut at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.
Called the Lacetti, the five-door model will be offered in 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8-litre versions with an automatic transmission option on the two larger engines. Like the four-door Nubira, the Lacetti has been styled by ItalDesign and is also built from the same platform.
It is due to go on sale in 2004 and will be followed later in the year by an estate car. GM Daewoo UK managing director Andy Carroll said: 'It is crucial for our future growth plans that we have an attractive hatchback in this popular market sector.'
