A CHARITY auction staged at West Oxfordshire Motor Auctions has raised more than £4,000 for the BEN, the Motor and Allied Trades' Benevolent Fund.

Items that went under the hammer included police vehicles, British Grand Prix tickets and cuddly elephants.

About 400 bidders attended and out of 112 vehicles supplied by various police forces, including cars, vans and motorcycles, only 11 remained unsold.

The Motor and Allied Trade's Benevolent Fund is the occupational benevolent fund for employees of the motor and associated trades, organisations and industries.
