We’ve seen Jaguar’s S-Type replacement, the XF, testing before, but this is the first time the performance R version has been spied. Caught testing in Death Valley, California, the XFR (above right) sits lower than the regular model and has extra cooling ducts to keep its supercharged V8 engine cool. Both models will be unveiled in production form at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with UK deliveries beginning early next year. Expect prices to start from around £33,000 with 3.0-litre V6, 4.2-litre V8 and 2.7-litre V6 diesel models, plus the supercharged V8 XFR, available. A source who has seen the finished car told us it is very similar to the C-XF concept car, bringing a much more modern look to the Jaguar line-up.
