Lorraine Farnon has been appointed as managing director by Adapted Vehicle Hire (AVH), Farnon previously held a number of senior operational and business development roles with National Car Rental and Europcar.
Commenting on her appointment at AVH, she said: “I am a passionate believer in disabled people being able to enjoy the greatest level of independent mobility possible. Professionally adapted self drive rental vehicles are a vital component in enabling this independence and the AVH service really does change lives for disabled drivers, their families and those who care for them.
“In my new role I aim to ensure that we continue to provide, on a national basis, the highest standards of care and attention in delivering adapted and wheelchair accessible vehicles for use by the disabled community. Too often disabled people are not provided with the professionally adapted vehicles they need, and in many instances to which they are entitled. Yet there is no need for this to be the case and AVH aims to be at the forefront of changing this situation.
“As well as providing our vehicles directly to disabled people we are working with the mainstream rental companies, accident and insurance replacement businesses, charities and government agencies in order to ensure that they too can provide disabled drivers with the specialist vehicles and services they need.
“I am delighted to be joining such a worthwhile and specialist business where I can apply my rental experience and skills to such an under serviced section of our society."
