Judged and hosted by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards saw the Škoda Superb Estate win the best ‘Family Car’ of 2010.
“Our 2010 SCOTY Family winner provides motorists with the maximum of space for minimal money but there has been no compromising on quality,” said John Murdoch, president of the ASMW. “This car impressed everyone who got behind its wheel with its combination of style and space. Add in the additional practicality of this massive estate and its elegant looks and what you have is a car that is superb in every way and a worthy winner.”
This award continues the winning streak for Škoda in general and the Superb specifically. After being named Top Gear’s ‘Best Luxury Car’ of the year, Auto Express added to the honors by naming it their ‘Best Estate Car’ and ‘Best Family Car’ earlier this year.
Škoda UK director, Robert Hazelwood, commented on the awards: “We’re delighted that the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers thinks as highly of the Superb as we do. It’s a fantastic car which we feel is receiving the accolades it deserves.
“In the UK, Škoda is on course to record its most successful year ever with record sales and the largest order bank in our history, a reflection of our great products, and a retailer network that takes outstanding care of our customers.”
