Honda (UK) has launched a new SMR (service, maintenance and repair) service, which allows fleet customers to access all information on car and parts costs online.
Fleet managers with fleets of over 25 vehicles and lease companies can use the new HondaSMR system to produce forecasts and budgets, or even to bring up specific information about an individual car.
It can be accessed through the internet with no additional software.
It is part of Honda’s wider fleet offering, which sets SMR rates nationally as part of the Honda national approved SMR programme.
Information on rates is stored centrally and available over the internet, making it easily accessible. The information on each car is extremely detailed, even listing components.
The advantages will be felt most by lease companies who plan future SMR costs and by their maintenance controllers who can question dealer invoices or the level of work or parts replacements that have been carried out.
However, it is not a service recording system so information on what work has been carried out on a particular car will not be stored.
The system was developed by FleetData, a global provider of market intelligence solutions for the automotive industry, and was created specifically for Honda (UK).
Lee Wheeler, national leasing and SMR manager at Honda (UK), said: “Early feedback on the system from our leasing company customers and dealers is that the system delivers tangible benefits in terms of data, flexibility and speed of use."
