Nexus Group has created a new position of group marketing manager, designed to support its continued growth in the vehicle rental and rental management sectors. James Daybell brings considerable marketing experience across a number of sectors, with particular expertise in the adapted vehicles arena. He will be responsible for the development of the websites for each of the Group companies as well as public relations, advertising, exhibitions and events, sponsorship and collateral design and production.
The Nexus Group now encompasses Nexus Rental, Nexus Outsourcing and Systems and its most recent acquisition, the specialist rental business, Adapted Vehicle Hire. With an expanding services portfolio – and growing customer base - Neil McCrossan, ceo, believes it is important to have a marketing manager who can provide consistency of marketing strategies and activities across all of the brands.
“We have grown our business through the innovative use of technology and delivering high quality customer service” explained McCrossan. “It’s important, therefore, that our values are consistently conveyed across all our marketing activities. I believe James will give us that focus.”
Whilst having responsibility for marketing strategy and execution across the Group, James’ initial focus will be on the expansion of the proposition from AVH. As the largest supplier of adapted cars and wheelchair accessible vehicles in the UK, it already has a very well established presence in the replacement vehicle marketplace amongst rental and leasing and insurance companies. Whilst continuing to build AVH’s presence in these sectors, James will also be focusing on increasing awareness and understanding of the AVH offering amongst the disabled community direct.
Commenting on his appointment, Daybell said “It is an exciting time to be joining the Nexus Group as it continues to grow, having recently achieved a top 50 ranking in the Fast Track 100. In particular, I am very excited about the opportunity to develop the AVH proposition.
“AVH offers its customers more than a service; it’s about giving them independent mobility, the freedom to go wherever they choose. Understanding the specialist requirements of disabled drivers and passengers is at the heart of AVH, and I aim to improve awareness of the quality of service provided to help these individuals enjoy the freedom to get out and about.”
