Nexen Tyre is the first Korean tyre manufacturer to be issued with an AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certificate by the Korean customs authorities. This document streamlines customs regulations and is therefore a valuable tool to faster and more reliable customs checks.

In November 2010 Nexen Tyre also obtained the FTA certificate, which documents the origin of an export product. Thanks to these two certifications, Nexen expects to increase its export competitiveness, since the simplified customs procedure will now save both time and costs.

The AEO customs certificate is recognised in over 50 countries, including the USA and the EU member states. In order to achieve AEO status, the World Customs Organisation (WCO) assesses the internal control system, the safety measures and the competence of an applicant.

Since 70% of all Nexen products are already exported, Nexen Tyre in Korea was keen to obtain the certificate and carried out all necessary preparations within a year, thus managing to fulfil all the requirements in a short period of time.

“The AEO status increases our competitiveness in the export area, and provides the necessary impulse for Nexen’s expansion in the global market”, emphasises Hyunjong Lee, director of the business management division of Nexen Tire. “We will continue to do everything necessary to supply our customers throughout the world quickly and reliably with Nexen quality products.”
