AutoRestore is launching a new ‘direct to consumer’ proposition offering motorists with minor vehicle body damage an alternative to making an insurance claim for their repairs - AutoRestore Repairs at your door”

There are approximately 5 million road accidents each year and around 30% are considered as ‘minor’ damage, which means the structural integrity of the car has not been affected and the damage to areas such as doors, wings, bumpers, bonnets and boot lids is cosmetic.

An increasing number of motorists want to avoid paying the higher premium excesses on some insurance policies and many are turned off by the hassle of ‘losing’ their car into traditional bodyshops, often for days, for relatively minor repairs.

Having identified this gap in the market, AutoRestore is launching its mobile repair proposition to the retail world and will deal with customers direct to offer a convenient, value for money service. The Auto Restore technicians, trained to the industry recognised QAA (Quality Assurance Award) standard, can attend to the vehicle at a convenient location to the customer, and with their mobile repair rigs can complete the repairs, to the BSI Kitemark standard, in 2 to 8 hours with an average repair taking just over 4 hours.

Chris Eldridge, managing director of AutoRestore commented;

“AutoRestore is an established and well respected service provider to the insurance industry, and there is a now great opportunity for us also to provide an alternative to the consumer market for their minor damage repairs, which enables us to access a potentially untapped market.”

“As premium excesses continue to rise, we can offer policy holders a potentially more cost effective way of getting their vehicle repaired without making a claim, thus reducing claims ratios and costs for our insurance partners”.
