ING Car Lease has selected the MoDel system from Ebbon-Dacs as its preferred electronic vehicle delivery and collection solution and has informed its preferred suppliers that they must be using the system by the autumn.

ING has a fleet size of 47,615 vehicles, making it the eighth largest in the UK according to the 2010 FN50 league of leasing companies, and delivers 13,000 new vehicles a year to fleet customers through a network of 30 preferred dealer partners.

As a result of its decision, ING expects all of its preferred network to be using the MoDel system by November 1, says Bryan Stringer, operations and ICT director at ING Car Lease.

“We like to be at the forefront of technology and keep up with the pace of change on behalf of our customers,” he said.

“We see Ebbon-Dacs as one of our key business partners and a trusted source of intelligence, and we can see real benefits from the use of MoDel through the reduction of errors, the speedier response times and the removal of paper from the system.

“We deliver over 13,000 new cars a year to fleet customers and, by using MoDel, we believe we will eradicate any chance of possible errors,” he said.

“When we got out to tender for new preferred partners from now on, it will be on the basis that any future partner will be using this methodology,” he said.

MoDel is a new online solution which provides added automation to the new vehicle delivery handover and collection process, and has been developed as a joint venture between Oxford-based online solutions Ebbon-Dacs and motor accessories supplier, VGroup International.

Every year, leasing companies deliver up to 500,000 vehicles to fleet customers via networks of preferred dealers, but this process utilises a variety of ways, usually paper-based, of capturing vital feedback on vehicle condition, handover completion and customer experience.

By automating and standardising this process, MoDel allows leasing companies to carry out CRM processes far more quickly and efficiently, including capturing important customer satisfaction information, vehicle condition reporting, delivery confirmation and helping identify and remove errors from the delivery procedure.

The new solution allows the instantaneous online upload of delivery and customer information into Leaselink, Ebbon-Dacs highly successful e-procurement trading platform, which is used by dealers and leasing companies around the UK to electronically source and manage more than 100,000 new vehicles per annum.

“We are delighted that ING Car Lease has joined a growing list of leading contract hire companies who have decided make the MoDel system the solution of choice for all their vehicle delivery and collection requirements,” said Robert Pilkington, managing director of the Leaselink International division of Ebbon-Dacs.
