City Link has won a Gold award in recognition of its continued high standards of health and safety practice in the workplace.

The award, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), is in recognition of the company’s health and safety management systems.

As part of the judging criteria for the award, experts from RoSPA looked at accident records and health and safety management systems in place at City Link depots across the UK, taking strong leadership and workforce involvement into account.

Karen Farr, head of health, safety and the environment at City Link, said: “We are delighted with our achievement in the annual RoSPA awards. This is the third year running in which we have won the Gold. This latest accolade shows we have instilled these impeccable standards in our employees, helping to maintain the Gold status for so long. Of course, not ones to rest on our laurels, we are already looking to next year, when we shall be going for gold again.”

David Rawlins, awards manager at RoSPA, said: “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition. City Link has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”

The award was presented in a recent ceremony at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
