More than 400 4x4 vehicles took to the halls at Manheim Bruntingthorpe earlier this month for the first ever BMW 4x4 auction. 416 vehicles were entered into the sale at Manheim’s flagship site on Thursday, 15th November, reaching a total value of £10 million and a conversion rate of 100 per cent, as well as achieving 106 per cent of CAP.
In excess of 350 buyers registered for the sale, with almost 60 per cent attending via Manheim’s online Simulcast platform. Around 30 per cent of the vehicles were sold online, with the event attracting a record 1,000 online bids on the day.
Matt Bristow, general manager for used car and internal sales at BMW, commented: “Manheim Bruntingthorpe offered an excellent setting to showcase our 4x4 vehicles and we’re delighted that so many dealers took advantage of the opportunity to get hold of a mix of high quality stock just in time for the winter months.”
James Leese, manufacturer sales director at Manheim, added: “Our experience shows that online selling is becoming more and more popular and we’re delighted that we’ve achieved such a strong result for BMW through Simulcast. In addition, almost three quarters of the BMW franchise dealership base was represented at this sale; testament to the ongoing success of the BMW sale programme which has been run out of Bruntingthorpe for the past two years.”
