Fleet tracking company SageQuest, part of Fleetmatics, has released an online eBook, encouraging positive driver behaviour to increase fuel efficiency.

The guide, entitled ‘The Four Habits of Fuel Efficient Fleets’, provides an overview of four key positive driver behaviours that can be encouraged through the use of GPS vehicle tracking systems and lead to improved fuel-efficiency and overall cost savings.

The guide looks at driver speed and idling times, and the benefits of monitoring through GPS vehicle tracking technology. In addition, the latest vehicle tracking systems allow fleet operators to route jobs based on real-time driver proximity and integrate fuel-card systems to ensure resources are being used for company purposes only.

SageQuest’s UK managing director, Peter Bingham said: “Fleet managers are facing consistently rising fuel costs and one of the leading impacts on vehicle fuel consumption is driver conduct. Through employing the latest ‘Value-Added’ GPS tracking technology you can begin to understand the ‘why?’ and the ‘how?’ of a driver’s behaviour, equipping you with the wisdom to make confident decisions and truly change behaviour that drives up fuel costs”.

The guide is available from the SageQuest website.
