A recently introduced Chevin software module is helping fleets reduce Penalty Charge Notification bills that have been running into annual six figure bills in some cases.
The PCN Power module, available for the company’s FleetWave web-based fleet management software, provides the ability to quickly access data relating to both Penalty Charge Notifications (PCNs) and Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIP).
The information captured can then be streamed through to FleetWave’s dashboard and provide real-time tracking and analysis of related KPIs, such as a league table of the most commonly offending drivers or riskiest routes and locations.
Managing director Ashley Sowerby said: “By identifying trends in drivers collecting PCNs or speeding tickets, businesses can take a proactive approach to dealing with the issues raised such as changing delivery arrangements or implementing speed awareness training.
“In turn, by having access to a centralised database of drivers who have received NIPs, accompanied by the Driver Licence Checking tool also available with FleetWave, businesses are able to better protect themselves against the legal and financial risk of drivers failing to declare penalty points.”
Sowerby added that some of Chevin’s clients had been paying out low six figure sums in fines every year because they could not quickly and accurately process PCNs and NIPs and pass them back to the correct driver.
He said: “While it is early days, the PCN Power module is helping these fleets to put measures in place that could see these amounts dramatically reduced.”
