Volkswagen launches entry-level ID Buzz Cargo electric van

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched a new entry-level model in its ID Buzz Cargo electric van range.

The new model, available only in Commerce trim, has a 59kWh battery and offers a WLTP range of 200 miles.

It has the same overall cargo volume of up to 3.9cu m and payload of 692kg as other models in the range, while it has a towing capacity of 1,000kg.

It will be priced from £35,960, with customer deliveries expected to start in late spring.

Standard equipment includes LED headlights, three front seats with heated driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, Ready 2 Discover infotainment system with 12.9-inch touchscreen, wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple USB-C ports.

It also has sliding rear doors on left and right sides, fixed bulkhead, wooden floor covering in load compartment and LED load compartment lighting.

It can charge at speeds of up to 165kW from an appropriate DC rapid charger, allowing it to go from 5% to 80% capacity in as little as 30 minutes.

It also has an onboard 11kW AC charger which means it can charge from empty to full in just over five hours.
