Fleet News, ACFO and the BVRLA launched the Fleet Industry Manifesto report at the House of Lords on December 10, calling on the next Government to address key issues on tax and emissions, red tape, road safety and roads infrastructure.
The Manifesto report was created following a series of steering group meetings attended by fleets, leasing companies and rental companies during which common consensus was reached on a number of topics. It is intended to spark debate and discussion among politicians, and to inform and influence their policy decisions ahead of the General Election on May 7, 2015.
The report was delivered to transport minister John Hayes MP and he delivered his response at the launch of this important document.
“This is an excellent paper,” Hayes said. “We understand your point about tax – it is important not to create a burden on business. You are valued contributors to the economy and we can’t stand in the way of your success.”

Great to see that three credible bodies joining together to be one voice, and the government acknowledging that fact and responding in an official manner.
