Ford will be demonstrating that fast can also be frugal with the Focus at Company Car in Action on June 16 and 17.
The high-performance ST variant has always been popular, particularly among retail customers.
However, the leading fleet manufacturer will also showcase the new diesel variant that offers 185hp with CO2 emissions of 110g/km and fuel consumption of 67.3mpg on the combined cycle.
The hatchback version of the diesel ST accelerates from 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds, but with the benefit of improved fuel economy and lower running costs than the petrol version.
Both Focus ST engine variants will be joined be the new Ford Mondeo with key fleet powertrains, revised Focus range, as well as members of the Transit family in the commercial vehicle’s 50th anniversary year.
Nick Themistocleous, Ford fleet director, said: “Ford has a long and proud performance heritage and this will be available on June 16 and 17 from our new Focus ST petrol and diesel entrants.
“With CO2 at 110g/km from this 2.0-litre TDCi Focus, there’s affordable fun to be had at the wheel of our latest hot hatch.”
Ford will also be previewing an important future model with a new S-Max on static display.
Beginning with the Mondeo at the end of 2014, Ford is completely renewing its large car line-up, with the S-Max joining the range in September, followed by the new Galaxy, and the Edge large SUV.
Themistocleous added: “2015 is a pivotal year for large cars at Ford, as we continue to launch all-new Mondeo while preparing for new S-Max, Galaxy and Edge at the end of the year.
“For Company Car in Action, we’ve made sure important Mondeo powertrains are available for drives, as well as offering a static preview of the new S-MAX due this summer.”
Two of the models in the Transit line-up will be available for testing at Company Car in Action.
“The iconic Transit celebrates 50 years of CV leadership in 2015, with a golden convoy touring the country to celebrate,” said Themistocleous.
“Transit is now a four-van line-up starting with the compact Courier and moving up to Connect, Custom and the two-tonne jumbo. Courier and Custom will be at Company Car in Action as two of the Transits which have touched the lives of most of us.
“From house moves to moving people, the Ford Transit is an essential tool to get the job done. It has become a mobile office or workshop for some – and loved by us all.”
Company Car in Action is held at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, with circuits purpose-built for appraisal of road vehicles.
There is a twisty hill route, a high speed bowl, a city course and an off-road track to ensure various types of vehicles can be tested in an ideal environment.
It allows fleet decision makers to test vehicles back-to-back in a controlled and safe setting to help them best decide which ones meet the needs of their organisations.
