Trakm8 accepted for ‘Made in Britain’ marque

Trakm8 Group has announced it has been successfully accepted for the ‘Made in Britain’ marque, which supports and promotes British manufacturing.

Trakm8’s portfolio of telematics devices are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK, including the T10 and T8 product families along with all accompanying add-ons.

The devices are manufactured and dispatched across two sites, the manufacturing facility in the West Midlands and the head office in Dorset.

Trakm8 has recently made a circa £500,000 investment to extend these manufacturing facilities. The investment into a new surface mount assembly line, which was in installed in April, will provide Trakm8 with a solid base from which it can service the significant increase in volumes expected during the course of the next year and beyond.

Trakm8 says it recognised a demand from the consumer for products that are manufactured in the UK. Since then, it has strived to bring all manufacturing operations, such as the Telematics PCB assembly to their facility in the West Midlands.

The decision to apply for membership with the Made in Britain organisation was made to reassure customers that all their products are still home grown; as many companies expand one of the first things to be migrated abroad is the manufacturing operation. Trakm8 remain proud to be Made in Britain.

Mark Watkins, chief operating officer of Trakm8 Holdings Group, said: “Trakm8 have long been advocates of British manufacturing.

“Before the Group acquired the manufacturing facility as part of the purchase of Box Telematics, the majority of products were built in Devizes, Wiltshire.

“We frequently invite our customers to our facility in Coleshill to view their products being manufactured on one our state of the art, fully automated surface mount lines.”
