The Road Haulage Association (RHA) is calling on fleets to help inform the Government on the sector’s ability to decarbonise van and truck operations.

The trade body has launched a net zero survey to find out from operators how ready they are to bring alternatively fuelled commercial vehicles, including battery electric, hydrogen and low carbon vans and trucks, into their fleet.

“We’ve been clear that by reducing the costs of decarbonisation and ensuring the required infrastructure is in place, our sector can prepare, and fully play its part,” said Richard Smith, managing director of the RHA.

“We’re asking operators for their views on decarbonising HGV, coach, and van fleets.

“The survey is a crucial opportunity for businesses to have their say on the way ahead, and the insights from it will help us best define what our sectors need on the road to net zero.

“The results will help us to better highlight how ready operators are to bring alternatively fuelled vehicles into their fleets.”

He added: “We want as much feedback from across the road transport sector as possible.

“This survey will also help to inform our work with Government and other stakeholders involved in delivering HGV, coach, and van decarbonisation.”

The RHA net zero survey will close at 5pm on Tuesday, April 15.
