By Stephen Briers, group editor, Fleet News

After 45 years, we say farewell to paper and fully embrace a digital future. It’s more sustainable, it doesn’t restrict our content output and it doesn’t limit our audience reach.

And, yes, with the spiralling cost of paper, postage and print, it’s cheaper too – and that’s important as it allows you to benefit from the UK’s best fleet journalists who constantly strive to produce the highest quality news, insight and intelligence.

As we continue to embrace the full fleet decision-making unit – fleet managers, finance directors, HR directors, procurement and the like – we need a more accessible way to engage with the right kind of insight.

Our digital products and services will enable us to better meet your needs as fleet operators as well as those of the wider fleet and mobility sector.

While closing the magazine is, admittedly, a wrench – and I accept that some of you are disappointed – our promise is that we will deliver even more of the insight and knowledge that is critical to your success.

We will continue to celebrate your success at individual, team and organisation level and we will continue to convene our fleet community to share learning and build successful networks via our event, membership and webinar portfolios.

You can expect to see several enhancements to our fleet offering. We’ll be merging our Fleet News and Commercial Fleet websites over the summer to give you a much better experience by making our best content easier to find.

We’ll enrich our newsletters to bring you all the in-depth insight and analysis that you expect from Fleet News. And we’ll shine the spotlight on the biggest issues in fleet with a series of digital special reports.

We will work hard to support your professional development and help to attract talent to the sector by raising its profile.

In short, we remain fully committed to helping you achieve outstanding leadership in fleet management.

We have an exciting journey ahead, but I don’t have all the answers.

As it was when I joined Fleet News in 2009, I need your help, support and guidance to ensure we are serving your needs to the best of our abilities.

Like you, I’m always learning and adapting to an evolving market. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up to remain part of our community at fleetnews.co.uk/Identity/Account/Register. Please join us on our digital journey.
