Business-critical issues ranging from work-related road safety to reducing vehicle off-road time and operating best practice benchmarking to cutting fuel bills will be under the spotlight at the first Commercial Fleet Summit and Exhibition.
Held on Thursday, September 24 at the International Centre, Telford, the one-stop shop for commercial fleet operators embraces the Summit featuring expert speakers and an exhibition, with an evening awards event recognising the industry’s finest.
The Summit is a must-attend date for commercial vehicle fleet decision-makers across a variety of roles, including transport managers, fleet managers, operations directors, logistics managers, fleet engineers and technicians, compliance controllers, plant managers, driver risk managers and procurement managers.
A Government minister has been invited to set the Summit’s agenda with a keynote speech anticipated to focus on the development of a future fuels roadmap, particularly with air quality concerns around the continuing use of diesel prompting speculation that more local authority low emission vehicle zones could be introduced.
Organised in association with the Freight Transport Association, minimising vehicle downtime, particularly if it is unscheduled, is consistently highlighted in surveys as a fundamental issue for fleets as it can be financially costly and cause reputational damage.
Consequently, one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle fleet operators will highlight best practice techniques to keep uptime to a maximum.
Telematics is becoming increasingly influential as a fleet manager ‘must have’, delivering a wealth of real-time data relating to vehicle use and abuse and driver behaviour.
Allied to the growing fitment of in-vehicle cameras, occupational road risk management and technology will be closely examined by expert speakers.
Additionally, managers in charge of an array of well-known commercial vehicle fleets, including Asda, HSS Hire, Transport for London and the Environment Agency will pass on top tips and industry-leading advice in respect of a range of topics including maximising vehicle utilisation, meeting increasing compliance including parking and improved fuel purchasing techniques.
The Summit promises to deliver to commercial fleet decision-makers a string of cost effective and efficiency initiatives to improve their transport operations.
