Bibby Distribution has appointed Andrew Mawson as its new head of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ).

Mawson, who has more than 25 years’ experience within the distribution and logistics sectors, joins the third-party logistics (3PL) company after nearly eight years as group SHE manager for PX.

His remit within Bibby Distribution will be to build on the 3PL's track record in SHEQ initiatives.

In particular, he will be introducing new training and coaching programmes aimed at delivering a proactive safety culture where all staff take responsibility for anticipating and preventing accidents.

Mawson will also champion The Road to Zero – the logistics company’s strategic programme, introduced in 2015, which aims for zero harm, zero emissions and zero waste.

He will also oversee the company’s environmental practice.
