Research shows that drivers at East Riding of Yorkshire Council have embraced TTC Group’s new online Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training.
Of over 100 drivers trained to date, 98% said they would recommend the training to others.
Having been awarded the contract to deliver the council’s managed driver CPC programme in March 2020, at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, TTC group began delivering all training online.
The council has been using the virtual classroom offer to provide its drivers with the latest educational resources.
TTC Group also recently announced it is providing 4x4 and 3.5t tipper driver safety training to HS2 construction workers at EKFB.
Philip Burgess, fleet services manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said, “Moving towards delivering the CPC training online and working with TTC Group has been an easy transition. We have been really pleased with the training delivered and so too have our drivers.”
“We take our Driver CPC really seriously and chose TTC Group for their overall experience, customer service and ability to create bespoke training courses for our drivers. We have a wide range of drivers and different vehicle types and we believe that all training needs to be relevant to the driver and truly engaging.
“We have seen a change in our drivers and a keen interest in the online provision which fits perfectly with our long-term ambition to make training count and align with our ‘Everyone Matters’ vision.”
Licence Bureau has also launched its new CPC remote training programme.
Andy Wheeler, head of technical delivery at TTC Group, said, “At the time of the contract award we were converting all our Driver CPC courses to be compatible with online delivery which involved making the training as engaging as possible, while not deviating from the course summary.
“We were fortunate enough to have gained extensive experience in delivering training online as it followed the rollout of delivering National Speed Awareness courses via Zoom to thousands of drivers through our many UK police contracts.”
TTC Group says online course delivery allows the company to capture real time course feedback; assess drivers’ knowledge and the agility to adapt courses as required.
Drivers are achieving an 80% average score on their knowledge assessments post-training, the group says.
