Lexus has launched a new variant of its RZ electric SUV with a longer range and a lower starting price.

The RZ 300e is available alongside the existing RZ 450e, priced from £49,995.

It offers a WLTP range of up to 297 miles and uses a less powerful single motor powertrain, as opposed to the dual-motor setup in the RZ 450e. Both cars are equipped with the same 71.4kWh battery.

The front-wheel-drive RZ 300e has a power output of 204PS, giving a 0-62mph acceleration time of 8.0 seconds.

Rapid charging at 150kW is supported, along with 11kW AC charging.

The RZ 300e mirrors the RZ 450e line-up with four equipment grades: Urban, Premium, Premium Plus and Takumi.

Pricing starts at £49,995 for the RZ 300e Urban, rising to £59,995 for the RZ 300e Takumi.

The RZ 450e is available from £57,895, following a price cut earlier in the year.
