Škoda has announced UK full pricing and specifications for the all-new Superb Estate. The new model is available to order later this month with the first UK deliveries expected in September.
Like the hatchback version, the new Superb Estate will be available with 7 engine options and the option of DSG automatic and 4x4 transmissions on some models. The engine range consists of 4 TSI petrol and three TDI diesel units with outputs ranging from 118 bhp for the 1.6 TDI to 276 bhp for the range-topping new 2.0 TSI engine.
The range consists of 5 trim levels: S, SE, SE Business, SE L Executive and Laurin & Klement. Prices start at nineteen thousand eight hundred and forty pounds for the base 1.4 TSI S model (twenty five pounds more than the outgoing S model).
The new car has grown longer and wider than its predecessor, allowing for greater space within the passenger compartment. The boot is twenty seven litres larger than before, at six hundred and sixty litres, expanding to 1950 litres with the rear seat backs folded.
The Superb is now 75kg lighter than its predecessor, a fiqure which Škoda attributes in part to VAG's shared MQB platform.
Škoda has made use of the latest in-car technology, with the Superb offering full integration of Apple and Android smartphones. Safety and convenience features include Blind Spot Detection, Rear traffic alert, third-generation Park Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.
All Superb models feature alloy wheels, air conditioning, LED rear lights, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and a touchscreen infotainment system. As well as ESC, a standard feature is Multi-Collision brake included - this triggers automatic brake intervention after a collision, preventing or reducing the impact of a possible second collision. All models also feature an autonomous emergency braking system as standard
SE models start from twenty two thousand three hundred and ninety pounds and add 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors and cornering front fog lights. The SE's specification also includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and SmartLink - a system that allows smartphone owners to show their phone's display on the car's infotainment screen.
Business users might like the SE Business model, which Škoda said will add "even greater comfort and technology", including Alcantara upholstery, front and rear parking sensors and tinted windows from the B-pillar back. Škoda's Amundsen touchscreen satellite navigation system is also included as standard, with a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen. The SE Business is available with 1.6-litre TDI 118 bhp or 2.0 TDI 148 bhp engines, with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional DSG gearbox. It starts from a P11D price of twenty two thousand seven hundred and thirty five pounds and a nineteen per cent BIK.
The SE L Executive model features a higher spec, including bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, leather upholstery with heated front seats and Columbus satellite navigation with 8-inch touchscreen. SE L Executive models also include 18-inch alloy wheels, and an electrically operated boot. Prices start from twenty five thousand four hundred and twenty pounds.
The range topping Laurin & Klement model features equipment such as 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, heated rear seats,
10-speaker Canton sound system, TV tuner and blind spot detection. It will cost from thirty one thousand eight hundred and forty pounds.
